Transforming Lives Through Books and Bears
At DSEA, we believe access to education and comforts of home are essential for children to thrive. That's why we launched Books and Bears - to deliver both literacy and joy to underprivileged youth.
During a school supply initiative in the Middle East in 2014, we realized many students also lacked a basic comfort - their own teddy bear. Something to provide warmth in difficult circumstances.
So we began pairing book donations with a special surprise - a brand new teddy bear they could call their own.
The impact has been immense. Not only do the books open new worlds of learning, but the stuffed animals provide comfort and a sense of security. As one child shared, "This bear is my first real toy. I'll hug it every night!"
Since then, we've brought Books and Bears to thousands of children in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Poland, Ukraine and Greece. By delivering books and bears, we're giving kids tools to cope, dream big, and elevate their education.

STEM meets Art.
Sparking Creativity and Innovation Through STEAM
At our organization, we believe integrating STEM and the arts can unlock new possibilities for problem-solving and imagination. That's why we facilitate STEAM initiatives joining science and creativity.
Through hands-on art projects, we empower students to better understand complex scientific concepts. Youth brought futuristic ideas like space elevators and Transformers to life through captivating animations.
These innovative STEAM programs give young people the chance to collaborate, think critically, and convey complex ideas creatively. Students gain presentation experience by showcasing their animations at esteemed conferences.
We also run art therapy and creative workshops to support the wellbeing of underserved groups. Our art initiatives have reached refugees and impoverished communities, providing a positive outlet for self-expression and healing.

STEM for All
Bringing STEM Education to Communities Worldwide
At our organization, we believe STEM education should be accessible to all - regardless of geography or economic status. That's why we launched STEM for All, a global initiative to deliver science programs to those without resources.
Since 2013, we've conducted hands-on workshops, video conferences, and science lessons for tens of thousands in countries like Iraq, Jordan, Nepal, Syria, and Turkey. From curious students to elders seeking knowledge, our programs welcome everyone eager to learn.
These programs are only possible thanks to our dedicated volunteers. Scientists and engineers from organizations like NASA generously provide their time and expertise. Local collaborators on the ground help us run engaging events in their communities.
Together, we're making STEM education borderless. Our interactive activities not only impart scientific knowledge, but also spark curiosity and critical thinking. Students gain problem-solving skills to uplift their lives.
